One of the greatest distance runners in Evangel history, Nicholas Hestand holds five Evangel school records that have stood for over ten years. 

At the 2010 NAIA Outdoor National Championships, Hestand ran a 9:28.38 3,000 meter steeplechase to place 15th overall, his longest tenured record at EU.

Nicholas also holds the school record for the indoor 3,000 meter run (8:44.81), indoor (14:53.60) and outdoor 5,000 meter run (14:57.57), 10,000 outdoor meter run (31:37.79).

Hestand ranks second in the outdoor 3,000 meter run, third in the indoor 1,000 meter run, and fourth in the half marathon and was named a 7x NAIA Scholar Athlete in 2010, 2011, and 2012
