SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Volleyball faced off with the Vikings of Missouri Valley on Tuesday evening. Looking to complete the season sweep of MVC, the Valor came out hot, using a strong attack and excellent defense at the net to make quick work of the Vikings, 3-0.

Evangel used an 8-0 and 7-0 run in the first set to break away from the Vikings. Tori Lowry was a force to be reckoned with, claiming eight kills in the set alone, helping guide the Valor to a quick 25-10 victory over MVC.

In set two, the Valor continued their hot streak, using a 5-0 run as well as several small 3-0 runs to remain in the driver's seat of the match. With the game tied at 6 points apiece, the Valor scored 13 points before the Vikings could score four, giving Evangel a 25-13 win in the set. The Valor blocking played a big factor in the set win as Evangel recorded six, one being the set clincher from Abi Menzies and Vivianna Sanchez.

The final set proved to be a battle between both teams. Although Evangel pushed out to a 16-9 lead, MVC came storming back, finding an offensive groove and tying the game up on five different occasions. Both teams got into a battle of trading points and ultimately with the game knotted at 23-23, Bella Wakley and Ciera Reyes recorded kills to claim the game, 25-23.
