WICHITA, Kan. – The KCAC announced the All-Conference Volleyball teams on Thursday (Nov. 13) morning. Seven different Valor athletes earned honors, led by first-team honoree Vivianna Sanchez, who earned her second career Defensive Player of the Year honor, followed by second-team honors for Bella Wakley, Sharayah Seymour, and Kenna Wise, and third-team honors for Simone Johnson, Charlotte Hawkins, and Jessica Pritchett.
Valor senior Vivianna Sanchez has had her strongest season both offensively and defensively, leading the team with 213 blocks while sitting in second with kills, currently with 338 from the middle blocker position. Vivianna's 213 blocks are the most in the nation by any player and ranks third all-time for a single season in EU history. This is Sanchez' fourth consecutive season earning all-conference honors.
Bella Wakley has had an exceptional season for Evangel. Wakley leads the team in kills, currently with 350 so far this season, as well as the second most digs with 387. Wakley's kills rank third in the conference and this is her third consecutive season earning all-conference honors.
Valor senior Sharayah Seymour has had an efficient season offensively, swinging .373, which is the fourth best attacking percentage in the conference. Seymour currently has the third most kills (234) and the third most blocks (89) on the team. This is Seymour's third consecutive season earning all-conference honors.
Evangel's libero, Kenna Wise, has been a steady presence defensively for Evangel, leading the team with 602 digs, the second most in the conference. Wise has also shown exceptional service, currently with 22 aces and just five errors. This is Wise's second consecutive season earning all-conference honors.
Evangel junior Simone Johnson earned her first all-conference honor this season, currently with 193 kills, the fifth most on the team. Johnson's 70 blocks currently rank fourth for EU.
Redshirt freshman Charlotte Hawkins also earned her first all-conference honor this season, as the Oklahoma native currently ranks second on the team in blocks with 113 and fourth on the team in kills with 220.
Rounding out honors for Evangel was Jessica Pritchett, who earned her second consecutive all-conference honor, currently with 595 total assists this season and 30 service aces, the third most on the team.
The Valor travel to McPherson, Kan., on Friday (Nov. 14) afternoon to take on the #2 seeded Bethel College Threshers at 4:00 p.m. for the chance to play in the KCAC Conference Tournament Championship.
