AVCA All-Region Teams

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced on Friday (Dec. 5) afternoon the NAIA All-Region teams. Senior Vivianna Sanchez was honored with the recognition, earning first team in the Midcentral region, her third AVCA honor (h.m. last season, region defensive POTY in 2022).

Sanchez concluded her Evangel career with her strongest defensive year, leading the team and conference in total blocks with 223, averaging 1.80 per set, which ranked second in the nation. Vivianna also recorded 347 kills from the middle blocker position, just three shy of the team lead. Her .390 attacking percentage ranks seventh in the nation, as the San Diego native displayed efficiency throughout the year for EU.

Evangel finished their season with a record of 30-5, closing their season in the KCAC Conference Tournament Semifinals and, somehow, shy of a national tournament berth.
