Marshall, Mo. – After facing off with the No. 11 team in the nation, the Valor had to turn around and compete against conference foe Missouri Valley on Saturday afternoon. EU came away with the victory in a tough back and forth matchup, 3-2.

The Valor began the night much like yesterday, attacking well, finishing the set with a .424 attacking percentage and taking the set, 25-16. The second set saw EU take a step back on the attack and Missouri Valley came out hot, finishing the set with 17 kills on only 3 errors, taking the set 25-20. EU fought to try and keep the game close after dropping the second set, but hurt themselves offensively, having 6 attacking errors and 3 service errors to lose the third set, 25-22. With their back against the wall, EU needed to take the 4th set and 5th to win. The fourth set proved to be a battle that the Valor would win. Going on runs of 4-0 and 5-0, EU took control of the game from their offense. The fifth set saw the host Vikings seemingly run out of gas trying to keep up with the Valor offense, as EU took the victory, 3-2.

"Today was a total team effort. Injuries have been tough on us, but players have stepped into their roles," Valor head coach Mary Whitehead stated, "This was a much needed win going into the second half of the conference schedule."
