SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Evangel volleyball rallied back after a slow start Tuesday night to roll past Missouri Valley, 3-1, in Heart of America Athletic Conference action.
The Crusaders fell behind early as errors helped the Vikings take the first set. However, Evangel flexed its muscles with impressive wins to close out the win including a .407 hitting percentage in the second set.
Tori Lowry continued to be a leader for the offense with 13 kills and a .265 hitting percentage, while Bridget Petersen added 10 kills and two blocks. Gabby Massengale was also solid on both sides of the net with nine kills and four blocks as Daisy Eklund added seven kills.
McKenna Miller tallied 42 assists and missed a double-double as she finished with nine digs. Eryn Russell and Sydney Dunavant were solid defensively as well with 11 digs each.
Evangel held Missouri Valley to a .070 hitting percentage in the wins as the Crusaders won their seventh straight.

Evangel takes a much-needed conference bye weekend before returning to the court next Tuesday in a Heart matchup with Benedictine. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Ashcroft Center.
