MARSHALL, Mo. – The Evangel volleyball team was unable to pick up a road win Tuesday night falling, 3-1, at Missouri Valley in Heart of America Athletic Conference action.

The Crusaders dropped a tough first match before winning the second set. However, the Vikings took big wins in the third and fourth set to earn the conference victory.

Evangel struggled offensively finishing with a season-high 37 errors. Heather Gahm finished with 16 kills to lead the Crusaders on the offensive side of the net while Victoria Fishback finished with 22 assists and Iva Jelovac added 12 assists.

Defensively, the Crusaders managed to keep the rally going as Jorden Stacey tallied 16 digs and Eryn Russell and Jelovac finished with 13 digs each giving Jelovac a double-double on the night.

Missouri Valley was led by Hailey Criswell and her 13 kills as the Vikings finished with 11 blocks as a team.

Evangel returns to the Ashcroft Center this weekend hosting Clarke on Friday and Mount Mercy on Saturday. First serve on Friday is scheduled for 7 p.m.
