MARSHALL, Mo. – The Evangel volleyball team saw its season end Saturday night in a 3-1 loss at Missouri Valley in the Heart Quarterfinals.

The Crusaders rebounded from a tough 25-14 first set loss to win set two, 25-19. Evangel managed to battle the Vikings in the third and fourth sets, but unable to get over falling 25-21, 25-21.

Heather Gahm led the Crusaders with 11 kills in the loss as Bridget Petersen and Ayona Tharps both added 10 kills each.

On the defensive side of the net, Evangel matched Missouri Valley with seven blocks. Makayla Stephen led the way with 15 digs as Jorden Stacey added 13 digs. Both Tharps and Petersen tallied four blocks.

Katarina Krstonosic posted 23 kills for Missouri Valley to lead all players.
