MARSHALL, Mo. – The Evangel University volleyball team dropped a five-set heartbreaker at Missouri Valley, 3-2, Tuesday night in Heart action.
Both teams went back and forth throughout the match as Evangel took a 2-1 edge after a 26-24 win in the third set. However, the Vikings rallied back to take a 25-20 win forcing a fifth set that went down to the final points in a 15-13 advantage for Missouri Valley.
Offensively, Heather Gahm and Jorie Garret led Evangel with 13 and 12 kills. Both Brianna Justis and Jorden Stacey recorded 21 and 20 assists respectively.
Freshman Sandy Mohr tallied 11 blocks and seven kills for Evangel on the defensive side of the net.
Missouri Valley was led by Hailey Criswell with 17 kills and a .441 hitting percentage.

- Evangel finished with a .170 hitting percentage edging Missouri Valley who posted a team percentage of .145.
