SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University volleyball team fell, 3-1, on Saturday to Mount Mercy in Heart of America Conference action at the Ashcroft Center.
The Crusaders took the first set, 25-14 before the Mustangs rallied back to sweep the final three sets.
Evangel was led by Heather Gahm who finished with a season-high 16 kills. Gahm also posted a .382 hitting percentage in the loss.
Five Crusaders recorded double-figure digs on the defensive side of the net as Jorie Garret paced Evangel with 22. Allie Dunton-Moss and Brianna Justis also recorded 20 digs each while Justis added 24 assists.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Heather Gahm posted a season-high 16 kills to lead the Crusaders for the first time this season.
- The Crusaders tallied just six team blocks in the loss. It was the third-lowest total of the season.
- - Evangel will play five of its final six games at home to end the regular season.
