Evangel swept their first round Heart of America Conference quarterfinal matchup against Missouri Valley College at Ashcroft Center (25-23, 25-15, 25-17).
The Crusaders were led by Sophomore Middle Block Morgan Kensinger with here 8 kills and 10 blocks. Evangel recorded 12 team blocks on the night (5 solo and 18 assisted blocks). Junior Haley Watson and sophomore Jackie Fugate both added 5 kills and 3 blocks for Evangel.
Evangel avenged an earlier season loss to the Vikings that went five sets to advance to the HAAC semifinals, where they will host the #3 seed Graceland Yellow Jackets this Wednesday at Ashcroft Center. Game time is 7:00pm.
