Evangel split their two matches on day two of the MidAmerica Nazarene University Classic in Olathe, Kansas.
The Crusaders opened the day dropping the first match 3-0 to #4 Park University (Mo.) 25-14, 25-15, 25-18. Evangel got 6 kills from Sophomore Middle Block Jackie Fugate and 15 digs from Junior Libero Morgan Smith.
In the second match Evangel swept #17 Grand View University (Iowa) 25-21, 25-17, 25-19. The Crusaders got outstanding performances from multiple players. Juniors Micah Guiot and Haley Watson both had 9 kills apiece and Sophomore Bri Justis had 17 digs and Junior Morgan Smith added 16 digs. Sophomore Middle Block Morgan Kensinger was named to the All-Tournament team for her 20 kills and 9 blocks in 9 sets played.
Evangel improves to 15-5 on the season and will be in action again on Tuesday September 30th when they travel to Fayette, Missouri to play Central Methodist University in HAAC play. Game time is 7:30pm
