SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Valor volleyball team was honored for its outstanding academic performance in the 2025 season by the American Volleyball Coaches Association by being named as AVCA Academic Award Team.

EU volleyball joined two other teams from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic conference as AVCA Academic Award Teams.

This marks Evangel's tenth overall AVCA Academic Team award and seventh consecutive year earning the award.

"Our academic policy is simple, education comes first," EU Volleyball head coach Mary Whitehead stated. "We strive for excellence in all areas with the utmost priority in the classroom. I am proud of this group of girls for achieving this honor!"

The AVCA announced that 1,432 high school and collegiate teams earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2026 season. To read the full AVCA article, click here.
