SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The 14th-ranked Evangel Softball program concludes the 2026 regular season on Tuesday (Apr. 21) afternoon, taking on the Southwestern College Moundbuilders in Winfield, Kansas.
First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. for Evangel's final doubleheader of the season.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel leads Southwestern, 7-0, in the all-time series, taking a pair of home run-rule victories last season, 8-0 and 10-0, all in five innings of play.
OPENING STORYLINES

Kenna Mayfield currently leads Evangel in most offensive categories, swinging a .458 bat while also stealing 51 bases (3rd most in nation) and scoring 48 runs.

Naomi Perkins has also swung the bat well this season, as Perkins boasts a .397 batting average and 34 RBIs, tied for the team lead with Audrey Carlton.

Natalie Morgan swung .800 at the plate last week, earning KCAC Softball Player of the Week honors for her efforts.

Maddy Meierer leads Evangel with a 1.14 ERA, having gone 20-3 so far this season from the circle with 152 strikeouts.

The Valor offense currently bats .316 this season as a team with 18 home runs and 245 RBIs. EU has also taken 163 stolen bases as a team, tied for the third highest mark in the nation.

As it currently stands, Evangel leads the conference in total KCAC wins (19), but has one additional loss then OKWU, who sits at 16-4, the fewest losses in the KCAC.
LOOKING AHEAD
Evangel Softball will await for the conclusion of the regular season for all KCAC schools and find out their conference tournament seed later this week. The next matchup for the Valor is set for April 29th in Salina, Kansas, at a time to be announced.
