SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The 13th-ranked Evangel Softball program returns home on Wednesday (Apr. 15) afternoon, taking on the Avila Eagles for a KCAC doubleheader.
First pitch for Evangel's matchup with the Eagles is set for 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon in Springfield.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel leads Avila, 43-22, in the all-time series, taking road and conference tournament wins last season, 6-0, 5-2, and 5-3.
OPENING STORYLINES
- Kenna Mayfield currently leads Evangel in most offensive categories, swinging a .461 bat while also stealing 48 bases (3rd most in nation) and scoring 43 runs.
- Naomi Perkins has also swung the bat well this season, as Perkins boasts a .386 batting average and 31 RBIs.
- Audrey Carlton leads Evangel in RBIs so far this year, currently with 32.
- Maddy Meierer leads Evangel with a 1.20 ERA, having gone 18-3 so far this season from the circle with 141 strikeouts.
- The Valor offense currently bats .306 this season as a team with 17 home runs and 218 RBIs. EU has also already taken 156 stolen bases as a team, the second highest mark in the nation.

Evangel Softball hosts the Bethel College Threshers on Saturday (Apr. 18) afternoon for their final home doubleheader of the season, with first pitch set for 1:00 p.m., on St. Jude Awareness Day.
