SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The 17th-ranked Evangel Softball program travels to Kansas on Saturday, taking on the Tabor College Bluejays in their first KCAC matchup of the season.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., for Saturday's doubleheader in Hillsboro, Kansas.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel leads Tabor, 7-1, in the all-time series, sweeping the Bluejays last season on the road and in the conference tournament (1-0, 9-0, and 3-1).
OPENING STORYLINES

Kenna Mayfield currently leads Evangel in most offensive categories, swinging a .436 bat while also stealing 27 bases (4th most in nation) and scoring 25 runs.

Naomi Perkins has also swung well to start the season, recording a .391 batting average.

Audrey Carlton leads Evangel in RBIs so far this year, currently with 19.

Maddy Meierer leads Evangel with a 1.12 ERA, having gone 10-1 so far this season from the circle with 58 strikeouts.

The Valor offense currently bats .306 this season as a team with 14 home runs (5 hit on Wednesday) and 118 RBIs.

Evangel Softball returns home to host the Friends Falcons for their first doubleheader in Springfield this season on Monday (Mar. 16) afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
