SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The 25th ranked Evangel Softball program travels to Kansas City on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 13/14), taking part in the KC NAIA Softball Invite.
First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday as EU takes on Columbia and Doane, followed by a 1:00 p.m. start on Saturday against Park and Cottey.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel leads the all-time series with Doane (1-0) and Park (11-7), but trails all-time against Columbia (5-10) and Cottey (3-4).
OPENING STORYLINES

Naomi Perkins currently leads Evangel in batting average, swinging a .583 bat while also stealing eight bases.

Maddy Meierer and Madi Bentley have both opened the season 2-0 with Meierer boasting a 0.00 ERA and Bentley at 2.92 and 14 strikeouts.

The Valor offense currently bats .404 this season as a team with four home runs and 34 RBIs.

In just one weekend, Evangel has already come away with 28 stolen bases and has earned 25 bases off walks and hit by pitch, striking out just 12 times.

Evangel Softball competes in one of the premier softball tournaments in the NAIA, the NAIA SB Invitational, taking on #8 Central Methodist, Bellevue, #2 Oklahoma City, and #21 Hope International from February 20th - 21st.
