SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After a 4-2 record last week, Valor Softball travels to Saint Mary and hosts Oklahoma Wesleyan to conclude their 2025 regular season.
First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. in Leavenworth on Wednesday before the Valor hosts Oklahoma Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m. in Springfield on Friday (Apr. 25) to wrap up the regular season.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel is 15-2 all-time against Saint Mary, sweeping the Spires as home last season, 4-1 and taking a forfeit win. The Valor also defeated the Spires 4-3 in the conference tournament last season.
EU is 16-6 all-time against Oklahoma Wesleyan, sweeping the Eagles on the road last season, 4-3 and 9-3.

Evangel split with Kansas Wesleyan on Friday, 3-0 and 2-1 (loss).

Karlie Romines leads EU with 10 home runs this season, 12th all-time in a single season in school history. Romines is currently tied for seventh in school history for home runs in a career, currently with 18.

Kenna Mayfield broke the single season stolen base record last weekend, moving her total to 54 so far this season. Mayfield is also second in runs scored in a single season, currently with 57 scored this year, just seven behind Kendra Corbin (2009), the current EU record holder.

Maddy Meierer leads Evangel in the circle, currently with 19 wins and a 0.81 ERA. Meierer is currently tied for 2nd for wins in a single season (19), 9th for wins in a career (35), 9th in strikeouts for a career (256), and 10th in strikeouts for a single season (137).

Evangel has committed 27 errors this season, compared to their opponents 61, helping keep EU in games with their strong fielding.

To earn the #1 seed and earn an automatic bid to the national tournament, Evangel needs to go at least 3-1 this week, currently behind first place Friends, who completed their regular season today with a 21-5 conference record (EU currently sits at 18-4 in conference play).
