KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After being named the KCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week, Evangel's Nate Swofford was named the NAIA National Football Defensive Player of the Week.
Swofford is the first Valor athlete to earn national recognition from the national office this season and is the first Evangel football athlete since Bradley Myers to earn national player of the week honors when he earned it last season.

Blocked a field goal, returned a fumble for a touchdown, and intercepted a pass on Friends final drive of the afternoon, setting up a game winning field goal against the 19th ranked squad.
