SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Evangel University head football coach Chuck Hepola announced the full-time hiring of Ridge Murphy and Quinton Murphy on Monday. Both Murphys will join Evangel during the Spring of 2026. Ridge Murphy will be working on the offensive side of the ball, as an offensive line coach for the Valor, while Quinton Murphy will take over as a linebackers coach for Evangel.

Ridge Murphy, a D'lberville, Mississippi native, comes to Evangel after coaching stops at Mississippi College, and most recently, Millsaps College, where he served as an assistant head coach last season. Ridge obtained his bachelors in history from Millsaps College in 2023, where he played on the offensive line, and his masters in athletic administration from Mississippi College. Murphy is supported by his fiancee, Abbey, and plans to move to Springfield.

Quinton Murphy, the Pella, Iowa native, has had multiple coaching stops across the midwest, with experience at University of Northern Iowa, Dordt, Wartburg, and most recently, Luther College, where he served as the defensive coordinator. Quinton obtained his bachelors in social science education from UNI in 2018, graduating with his masters in sports leadership from Dordt in 2020. Murphy and his wife Raelynn have one daughter, Millie, and currently reside in Springfield.
