CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. – Valor Men's and Women's Track and Field competed at the Heart of America Track and Field Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday (May 5/6), looking to cap off the season as a team with big performances.
Evangel had an exceptional showing at the meet, highlighted by 25 PR's being set and Koby Graham placing first in the javelin throw, breaking the conference meet record.
HIGHLIGHTS

Evangel's top finish this weekend came from Koby Graham, who placed first in the Javelin throw with a toss of 62.78 meters, breaking the previous conference meet record.

Skylar Adams placed second in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:49.27, also placing sixth in the 800 meter run over the weekend with a time of 2:24.05.

Eric Patterson placed second in the 3000 meter steeplechase, recording a time of 9:47.71.

Joshua Leazer placed second in the triple jump with a top mark of 13.80 meters.

Competing in three different events, Alex Richardson placed in the top eight in all three. Richardson used a 47.02 meter toss in the discus to place third, a 58.53 meter toss of the javelin to place fourth, and a 14.35 meter throw of the shot put to place eighth.

The women's 4x800 meter relay team (Skylar Adams, Emily Harris, Danielle Caldarelli, Macy Kopp) placed third with a time of 9:36.88.

Delaney Weimer placed fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.43 seconds and placed seventh in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.99 seconds.

In the men's 100 meter dash, Matthew Kellerstrass placed fourth with a time of 10.81 seconds. Kellerstrass also placed fourth in the long jump with a top mark of 6.91 meters.

Liam Boivin recorded a fourth place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.46 seconds.

In the women's 800 meter run, Macy Kopp placed fourth with a time of 2:21.12.

Emily Harris' name could be found on several event lists, placing fourth in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:54.49. Harris also placed eighth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 19:48.71.

Logan Rodgers continued his strong season in the high jump, placing fourth with a mark of 1.90 meters.

The men's 4x100 meter relay team (Zatrick Pearce, Joseph Sylvester, Nathaniel Garnica, Matthew Kellerstrass) placed fourth with a time of 41.92 seconds.

Jacee Wilson placed fifth in the triple jump, hitting a top mark of 10.88 meters.

Abigail Good ran a 1:05.24 400 meter hurdles, placing sixth in the conference.

In the women's high jump, Hannah Evans hit a mark of 1.55 meters, placing sixth. Evans also placed seventh in the long jump over the weekend with a mark of 5.19 meters.

Jacob Gillies placed sixth in the High Jump, recording a top jump of 1.85 meters.

Will Anoa'i threw the shot put 14.80 meters, placing sixth in the event.

The men's 4x800 meter team (Ethan Montgomery, Eric Patterson, Isaiah Flores, Campbell Nichols) placed sixth with a time of 8:00.96.

The women's 4x100 meter team (Arianna Maddock, Madi Inman, Taylor Collins, Delaney Weimer) broke the school record they set at the previous meet, with a time of 50.20 seconds, placing sixth.

Kaiden McCormick placed seventh in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 34:00.74.

Edward Miller placed seventh in the 5000 meter race walk, walking a time of 33:09.32.

Zatrick Pearce ran an 11.32 second 100 meter dash, placing eighth overall.

Campbell Nichols placed eighth in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:56.78.

Lauren Davis rounded out top eight performances over the weekend, placing eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.51 meters.

UP NEXT
Evangel will take Koby Graham and Alex Richardson to Marion, Indiana, to compete at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships from May 24th-26th. Graham will throw in the Javelin event with Richardson who will compete in both the Javelin and Discus throws.
