KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Track and Field Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday. The Valor Track and Field team had 13 athletes named as NAIA scholar-athletes in the 2023 season.
Campbell Nichols, Abigail Good, Delaney Weimer, Dakota Spencer, Eric Patterson, McKenzie Robbins, Megan Smith, Evan Espinoza, Graham Miller, Joseph Sylvester, Nash Grantham, Skylar Adams, and Tyler White all earned recognition for their work in the classroom.
The 2023 list features 1,881 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution. Evangel has had 86 student athletes honored so far this season as NAIA scholar athletes.
