PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Evangel men's and women's track and field teams competed in the David Suenram Gorilla Classic, hosted by Pitt State University, on Saturday, looking to earn PRs and attempt to qualify for nationals.
Evangel finished with 15 top 10 performances with Joshua Leazer's sixth place finish in the triple jump and Jacob Gillies, Nash Grantham, and Logan Rodgers sixth place finishes in the high jump highlighting the meet.
HIGHLIGHTS

Leazer finished with a jump of 13.54 meters in the triple jump, placing sixth.

The trio of Gillies, Grantham, and Rodgers all tied for sixth in the high jump with a mark of 1.89 meters.

Delaney Weimer ran a 12.27 second 100 meter dash, placing seventh overall.

In the 4x400 meter relay, Abigail Good, Macy Kopp, Hannah Evans, and Taylor Collins placed seventh with a time of 4:15.35

Abigail Good placed seventh in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.65. Liberty Wiles placed eighth in the same event with a total time of 1:08.21.

In the 800 meter run, Skylar Adams placed seventh with a time of 2:22.62, followed by Macy Kopp's tenth place time of 2:24.04.

Jacee Wilson had a triple jump of 10.90 meters, placing seventh in the event.

In the 400 meter hurdles, Liam Boivin ran a time of 56.45 seconds, placing eighth overall.

Koby Graham continued his strong outdoor season in the Javelin, throwing a 57.12 meter toss, placing eighth overall and hitting the "A" standard.

Evan Espinoza ran a 16:25.58 5000 meter run, placing ninth overall.

Alex Richardson rounded out top 10 finishes on Saturday, placing ninth in the Discus with a top toss of 45.08 meters.
