PARKVILLE, Mo. – Valor Baseball concluded their four game series with the Park Pirates on Sunday, looking to force an overall split in the series after dropping the first two games of the series.
The Valor struggled to generate much offense in game three, finishing with just three singles and falling to the Pirates, 2-0. Evangel came alive offensively in game four, scoring seven runs and shutting the Pirates down in the seventh inning, claiming a 7-6 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In game one, Evangel opened innings two and four with singles from Levi Loughridge and Athanie Leeviraphan, but EU was unable to get the runners home. Park scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 2-0 lead.

The Valor recorded just one single after Park took the 2-0 lead, leading to Evangel's loss in game one, 2-0.

EU jumped on top of the Pirates early in game four, scoring two runs in the first inning. Jeremy Vickers singled to left center to open the game and was followed up with a Leeviraphan walk. Loughridge hit a single to load the bases and a Carson Sturdefant walk scored Vickers. Eli Cook hit a sacrifice fly to score Leeviraphan, giving the Valor a 2-0 lead.

Park took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the second when the Pirates scored three runs.

Leeviraphan got on base via error to begin the top of the third and was followed by a Brooks Espy walk. A Loughridge single scored Leeviraphan and a Cook home run to left field pushed EU out to a 6-3 lead. The scoring did not end there for the Valor as Arly Miller reached first via error and scored on a Matthew Olson single, putting Evangel ahead, 7-3.

In the bottom of the third and sixth innings, Park scored three runs to draw within a run of the Valor. In the bottom of the seventh, Gallup was able to shut down the Pirates offense, leading to Evangel's 7-6 victory.
