WICHITA, Kan. – After a successful 2026 regular season, the Evangel Valor Baseball program had a trio of athletes earn All-KCAC honors, highlighted by Mason Reilly, who was named the KCAC Freshman of the Year, paired with first team relief pitcher honors.
Joining Reilly on the first team was Quentin Edwards, earning the honor as a utility player, while Justus Cherrico rounded out honors by being named second team All-KCAC designated hitter.
Reilly, a Lakewood, Colo., native, was a consistent piece to both the Evangel offense and defense, as his bat heated up to close the regular season. Mason finished the year with a 2.90 ERA in 40.1 innings pitched. Reilly led Evangel with 55 strikeouts, allowing just a .211 batting average to opposing hitters. Mason also finished the year with a .337 batting average, hitting three home runs and scoring 26 runs for Evangel. Mason's Freshman of the Year honor is the first time in school history that any EU athlete has earned the honor.
Edwards, the Rogers, Ark., native, led Evangel for the entirety of the season at the plate, finishing the regular season with a .403 batting average (5th in the KCAC) and 16 home runs (5th in the KCAC). Quentin has already broken school records this season in home runs and hits (71) and currently ranks third in RBIs (57).
A Nashville, Tenn., native, Cherrico hit .401 in the regular season, hitting seven home runs and 12 doubles, while also hitting 44 RBIs (tied 14th in single season history at EU) and scoring 41 runs.
The Valor concluded their regular season with a 24-24 record, earning the seven-seed in the KCAC Conference Tournament. Earlier today, EU defeated the #2-seeded Ottawa Braves, 6-2, and will take on the #3-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles tomorrow (Apr. 30) afternoon at noon in Salina.
