SEARCY, Ark. – Evangel Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams opened their spring season on Saturday afternoon on a cold day, looking to break records and qualify for nationals.
Koby Graham and Alex Richardson highlighted the meet on Saturday, both qualifying for nationals in the Javelin throw. Jacee Wilson also broke the EU women's triple jump record while Liam Boivin and Joshua Leazer finished first place overall in what was a successful day for the Valor.
HIGHLIGHTS

Joshua Leazer placed first in the long jump with a mark of 6.56 meters.

Liam Boivin ran a first place time of 55.88 seconds in the 400 meter hurdles on Saturday.

Emily Harris placed second in the 5000 meter run on Saturday with a time of 19:05.46.

The men's 4x100 meter relay team (Kellerstrass, Garnica, King, Pearce) placed second with a time of 43.31 seconds.

Koby Graham recorded a second place finish in the Javelin, breaking the Evangel school record and smashing the "A" standard, qualifying for nationals with a throw of 58.50 meters. Alex Richardson took fourth place, hitting the "B" standard and also qualifying for nationals with a throw of 55.00 meters.

Jacob Gillies and Logan Rodgers both tied for second in the high jump with marks of 1.90 meters.

Delaney Weimer ran a 12.45 100 meter dash, recording third place overall.

A 1:10.76 400 meter hurdles time placed Abigail Good in third overall on Saturday.

Macy Kopp's 2:28.96 800 meter run was good enough to record third place overall.

Eric Patterson ran a 10:21.30 time in the 3000m Steeplechase, placing third overall.

Jacee Wilson's fourth place finish in the triple jump (10.94m) broke the EU school record.

Evangel's women's 4x100 meter relay team (Maddock, Wiles, Robbins, Weimer) ran in 51.73 seconds, placing fourth overall.

Nash Grantham placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 59.49 seconds.

Matthew Kellerstrass recorded a fifth place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.12 seconds.

Campbell Nichols rounded out top five finishes for Evangel on Saturday with a 1:59.12 800 meter run.

Valor Track and Field will take a short trip north to Bolivar, Mo., to compete in the SBU Outdoor Invitational on Saturday (April 1) afternoon.
