HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Presentation scored four runs in the top of the first to take an early 4-0 lead, but Evangel matched with four runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. Josie Allcock-Sperry singled and scored on a wild pitch after advancing bases via a passed ball and a Cayleigh Berry bunt, putting the Valor ahead, 9-4.

  • Berry walked, stole second, and scored on a Kya Schmidt single in the bottom of the fourth to take a 10-5 lead.

  • A Raley single was followed by a Hanner single and Shockley scored on a wild pitch, after coming in to run for Raley, extending the lead to 11-5. Presentation scored three runs in the top of the sixth, but Evangel shut down the Saints to take an 11-8 win in game one.

  • Briar Cliff scored three runs in the bottom of the third, leading to their win, 3-1, over Evangel.

  • In game three, Mount Marty scored two runs to open the game, but the Evangel offense grew hot in the fourth inning. A Raley double, Hanner walk, and Mayfield bunt single loaded the bases. A walk scored a run followed by two sacrifice hits to score an additional two runs, giving the Valor a 3-2 lead.

  • Evangel's top of the fifth proved to be the difference en route to the win. Arnold singled and Raley singled to score Brooke. A Hanner single and stolen base put two runners in scoring position. A Mayfield single scored Raley, and a Mount Marty error scored Hanner. A Allcock-Sperry sacrifice bunt scored Mayfield, followed by a Annslee Leeviraphan walk and several MMU errors to score Leeviraphan.
