SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Head baseball coach Tyler Henry announced a 51-game schedule for his third season leading the Valor in the 2024 season on Wednesday.
The 2024 season includes 31 home games and nine games against opponents who were featured in the first top-25 poll of the year (#16 KWU, (RV) Tabor and McPherson). KCAC conference play features a different format than the HAAC, as Evangel will play three games against their conference opponents, a nine-inning match on Fridays and a nine inning and seven inning doubleheader on Saturdays.
Evangel kicks off their season on February 2nd with a four game home series against AMC school Williams Baptist. The following weekend, Evangel hosts another AMC school, Hannibal-LaGrange, for a four game series (February 9th). The Valor will open KCAC conference play on February 16th with a three game series against (RV) McPherson College. The Valor will then take on longtime rival, College of the Ozarks, in a single home nine-inning match on February 20th, followed by another three game conference road series, this time against 16th-ranked Kansas Wesleyan (February 23rd), before hosting non-conference opponent UHSP in a doubleheader on February 27th to round out the month.
The Valor open the month of March with a three game road conference series against Bethany College on March 1st and then hosts non-conference opponent, William Woods, for a single nine-inning game on March 5th. Evangel will continue conference play on March 8th, hosting Avila for a three game series, before hosting Friends for a doubleheader on March 12th. Evangel's final non-conference game in the month of March will be on the road against College of the Ozarks (March 13). Evangel will conclude their series against Friends in Wichita, Kansas, on March 19th in a single nine-inning game. On March 22nd, the Valor hosts Ottawa for a three game series, followed by a three game home series with Saint Mary (Kan.) on the 29th to end the month of March.Â
Evangel opens April with a Tuesday doubleheader against the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles (April 2) and then opens a home series against Sterling College on April 5th. EU concludes their series with OKWU on the road on April 9th, followed by a weekend road series against Southwestern College (April 12). Just one week later, Evangel hits the road to take on the York Panthers in a three game series (April 19), before Evangel concludes their non-conference schedule, traveling to St. Louis, Mo., to take on UHSP in a Tuesday doubleheader. The Valor will honor their seniors and round out their 2024 regular season at home on April 26th when they open a three game series against the (RV) Tabor Bluejays.
The KCAC Conference Tournament is hosted in Great Bend, Kan., at the Great Bend Sports Complex from May 1st - 4th.
