Noah Suiter went 3-for-7 on the afternoon, while Jordan Yates drove in four runs to power the EU offense.
On the mound, the Crusaders benefited from a pair of complete-game performances, with Brett Hoffman logging the game-one victory, before Dill struck out nine Wildcats and faced just three hitters over the minimum to lock up the win in the second contest.
Game 1 – Evangel 10, Culver-Stockton 2
Evangel erased a 1-0 Wildcat lead with a seven-run, fifth-inning rally, and Hoffman tossed a complete game to help the Crusaders halt a four-game slide with their first Heart of America Athletic Conference victory of the season.
Suiter led the Crusaders with two hits, including the key three-run triple in the decisive fifth-inning rally that turned a one-run EU lead into a 5-1 bulge. Mason Hansen added a two-out, two-run single to stretch the lead to six runs.
Stephen Belcher opened the critical fifth inning with a walk, before Grant Kosanke added an infield single to set the stage for Tyler Coffelt's run-scoring single to left that knotted the score at 1-1. Dalton Cook followed with an RBI double to right to put the Crusaders on top, before a walk to Patrick Gaul loaded the bases.
Suiter then laced a triple left to clear the bases and give EU a four-run advantage. Hansen capped the rally with a base hit to left to bring in two more Crusader runs.
Hoffman (3-2) scattered seven hits and struck out six to earn the win, allowing just single Wildcat runs in the first and sixth frames.
Game 2 – Evangel 3, Culver-Stockton 0
Yates drove in all three Evangel runs with a fifth-inning double, as the Crusaders made the most of their five hits.
Dill (4-1) permitted just singles by Caleb Antonacci and Cody Dennis and a German Sepulveda double, while striking out nine to notch the mound victory.
Yates, who went 2-for-2 in the game, reached safely in all four of his plate appearances, drawing a pair of walks as well. Suiter finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored to cap his strong afternoon.
