HILLSBORO, Kan. – Evangel Baseball traveled to Kansas on Friday (Apr. 25) afternoon, taking on the Tabor College Bluejays in a doubleheader, looking to close their 2025 campaign out on a high note.
The Valor offense could not keep pace with the Bluejays on Friday, falling 8-2 in game one and 10-8 in game two.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Tabor scored the first four runs of the day in game one, taking a 4-0 lead.

Evangel scored their first run of the afternoon in the top of the fourth, using a solo home run from Evan Baptiste to make it a 4-1 game.

Adam Denniston singled and Jeremiah Leaming came in to run for the catcher, scoring on a Baptiste double to draw EU within two runs, 4-2.

Tabor scored four unanswered runs in game one, as the Valor bats could not score any additional runs, falling 8-2 in game one.

In game two, Quentin Edwards hit a two run home run to open the scoring, giving EU a 2-0 lead.

Tabor tied the game up in the bottom of the first inning, 2-2.

Parker Ellifritz singled and scored on a Matthew Olson single, giving EU a 3-2 lead.

A Shane Poe solo home run in the third inning extended the Valor lead to 4-2.

The Bluejays hit a pair of home runs to take a 5-4 lead over Evangel heading into the fourth inning.

Baptiste hit his second home run of the afternoon to tie the game up at 5-5, before an error allowed Poe to score and re-gave EU the lead, 6-5.

Tabor scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to lead, 10-6.

A multitude of Tabor errors allowed EU to score a pair of runs in the final inning, but EU could not string enough offense together, falling 10-8 in game two.
