MARSHALL, Mo. – The Evangel softball team finished a road sweep at Missouri Valley taking game one 3-2 and rolling to a 9-2 win in game two Friday afternoon.

Game One
Evangel jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the second inning before Missouri Valley tied the game in the bottom of the third. The game would stay tied until the top of the sixth inning when Alex Jackson led off with a single and a stolen base to move into scoring position.

Jackson would score three batters later on an RBI ground by Hannah Trabucco giving Evangel a 3-2 lead.

Bridget Rippe tossed six innings and scattered six hits before Taylor Kister pitched the seventh. Kister did not allow a hit and struck out two earning the save.

Jackson and Arlena Armstrong each finished with a pair of hits as Armstrong added an RBI.

Game Two
The second game saw Evangel rattle 22 hits en route to a 9-2 victory over Missouri Valley.

Five Crusaders finished with three hits as Kami Holt added two RBIs and Arlena Armstrong tallied one RBI. Holt finished a home run shy of the cycle with a single, double, and triple.

Evangel scored in every inning except the second and seventh to build its lead to 7-0 before the Vikings got on the board in the bottom of the fifth.

Abby Emmitt earned the win going six innings and allowing just two runs. She struck out three as well before Taylor Kister pitched a perfect seventh again.
