Game One
Patrick Gaul finished off an exciting game one with a walk-off double to give Evangel a 4-3 win. The inning started with back-to-back walks to Mason Baur and Dylan Bradshaw to lead-off.
A fly ball from Gabe Franklin moved the pinch runner, Harrison Stevens to third and setup Gaul's game-winning hit.
Tanner McVey finished 2-for-2 at the plate and came on in relief to earn the win pitching the final 1.2 innings. Dustin Eby earned a no-decision after striking out four and allowing just three hits over 5.1 innings.
Bradshaw singled home Ryan Frye in the second followed by an RBI groundout from Jordan Yates.
Jamestown took the lead in the top of the sixth with three runs on a hit and two errors. The Jimmies entered the series 10-0 on the season.
Game Two
The Crusaders were unable to hang on to an early lead in the second game falling, 8-2.
Evangel scored a run in the first inning on an RBI single from Tanner McVey to score game one hero, Patrick Gaul. After Jamestown tied the game in the top of the third, the Crusaders answered to regain the lead with the help of an error and a wild pitch.
However, Jamestown pushed two runs across in the sixth and five runs in the top of the seventh to pull away.
Derek Kennel earned the loss going 5.2 innings as he was charged with two of the three runs. Ben Loge came on in relief and got out of the sixth inning with one pitch.
