The Crusaders were able to hang onto the fifth spot in the Heart South Division and sit just three games behind Avila.

In game one, Evangel and Culver-Stockton worked a 2-2 tie through the first five innings before each team added a run in the sixth inning. However, the Crusaders were unable to come up with a run in the seventh as the Wildcats got a lead-off double and a RBI single for the walk-off win.

Dustin Eby went the distance as he was tabbed with the loss after scattering nine hits over seven innings. Eby walked three and struck out two in the loss.

The Crusaders jumped out to a big 5-0 lead in the first inning but had to rally back after the Wildcats scored a run in the second and a five-run inning of their own in the third. Evangel pushed two runs across in the fifth and blew the game open with an eight-run sixth.

Tanner McVey finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a home run while Jose Vargas and Jordan Kirkpatrick also recorded three hits. Vargas hit his third triple of the season as he also drove in three runs in the win.
