OZARK, Mo. – The Evangel University football will host Culver-Stockton Saturday as part of Hall of Fame Weekend. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. as five former Crusaders will honored as part of the day's festivities.
Saturday's game will kick off from Tiger Stadium in Ozark at 1:30 p.m. and will be broadcast exclusively through Evangel Game Central and EvangelAthletics.com. The game broadcast can be seen around the world for free through EvangelAthletics.com and through the Evangel Athletics Mobile App available on iPhone and Android.
OPENING STORYLINES
► Evangel welcomes back five of the most storied athletes in Crusader history. Among the five athletes who will be honored at halftime include: Micah Cravalho (football), Matt Linehan (men's basketball), NaTasha (Neal) Moore (women's basketball), Demetric Phillips (football) and Kelly (Hartley) Richardson (volleyball).
► For Saturday's game the Crusaders look to continue their dominance over Culver-Stockton and get their first win of 2016. Evangel leads the all-time series 26-4 and have won seven of the last eight meetings including last year's 52-20 road win.
► Both Evangel and Culver-Stockton are in search of their first win in 2016. While Evangel has faced three top 25 teams while the Wildcats have played two teams ranked or receiving votes.
► Evangel will face a Culver-Stockton team that ranks in the top five of the conference in scoring and total offense. The Wildcats rank second in pass offense as well averaging 394 yards per game through the air.
► The Crusader defense stood strong last week against 6th-ranked Grand View holding the Vikings to 14 first half points. With a blocked punt and a fumble recovery, Evangel also recorded two sacks and 12 tackles for a loss.
► Wide Receiver Brady Collier enters the week ranked fourth in total receptions in the nation with 19 catches. The sophomore leads Evangel in receiving with 148 yards and has averaged 7.8 yards per catch.
► Senior Brock West also ranks in the top 10 nationally in kickoff returns. West has returned 10 kicks for 220 yards this season.
