Crusaders open home schedule vs Peru State: Evangel plays their first home game of 2015 hosting Peru State on Saturday at JFK Stadium. The Crusaders are 0-1 after a season opening loss at 25th ranked Benedictine last week. Evangel went 6-5 last year and 4-5 in the Heart of America conference.
Peru State is 1-0 after the Bobcats opened with a 48-17 win at home over Central Methodist last week. The game was tied 17-17 at halftime before Peru State pulled away in the second half. Last year, the Bobcats went 3-8 and 2-7 in the conference.
Evangel won last year's game against Peru State with a 24-21 overtime win in Nebraska. The Crusaders have won the last three meetings with the Bobcats and they lead the all-time series 5-3. Saturday's game is Peru State's first visit to Evangel since 2012.
