Crusaders home vs. #12 William Penn

Crusaders home vs. #12 William Penn: Evangel is home for the first time since Sept. 5 and for just the second time this season as they host 12th ranked William Penn Saturday at JFK Stadium. 

The Crusaders are 2-2 and coming off of a win last week at Culver-Stockton 52-20. Evangel defeated Peru State 25-20 in their only home game so far this season. 

William Penn is 3-1 with wins at 9th ranked Missouri Valley 35-28 to start the year and over 8th ranked MidAmerica Nazarene 51-48 in overtime on Sept. 5. The only loss for the Statesmen came Sept. 12 when the fell at 15th ranked Baker 48-13. Last week, William Penn won at home over Central Methodist 56-16. 

Saturday's game is the first meeting ever between the Crusaders and William Penn. The Statesmen are playing their first season in the Heart of America conference and have only been in the NAIA since 2000 after previously playing at the NCAA-III level. 

The game is a non-divisional game within the Heart of America conference. Evangel, a member of the Heart's Southern Division, will have games count in the standings when they play within in their division starting on Oct. 17.
