Box Score Des Moines, Iowa-- Grand View running back Jordan Cheatum scored five touchdowns helping the sixth-ranked Vikings pull away from Evangel for a 47-21 win Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.
Cheatum got Grand View on the board two minutes into the game on a 31 yard scoring run putting the Vikings ahead 7-0.
Evangel tied the game on a blocked punt by Josh Irby. Irby blocked the punt and recovered the ball nine yards deep in the end zone tying the game 7-7 midway through the first quarter.
Cheatum then put the Vikings ahead on a 7-yard scoring run late in the first quarter and the junior broke free on a 76 yard touchdown early in the second quarter giving Grand View a 20-7 lead. His fourth score came with 1:21 left in the second quarter giving Grand View a 26-7 halftime advantage.
Evangel posted two fourth quarter touchdowns as Bo Dean hit Brady Collier with two scoring passes, a two yard TD and a 17 yarder late in the game.
Cheatum ended the game with 165 rushing yards and added a 95 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Evangel quarterback Bo Dean went 21 for 44 with one interception and two touchdowns and threw for 136 yards. Brady Collier caught five passes for 35 yards and two touchdowns while Josh Irby led Evangel on the ground 38 yards rushing on seven attempts.
The Crusaders dropped to 1-2 while Grand View improved their record to 2-1.
Evangel plays next week at Culver-Stockton. Kickoff is at noon in Canton, Mo.
