Softball splits at Oklahoma Wesleyan

Bartlesville, Okla.  – Evangel traveled to Oklahoma Wesleyan for a non-conference doubleheader and came away with a split.  The Crusaders won game one with a 13-10 slugfest and dropped game two 4-2 in a pitcher's duel. 

Evangel took the first game on the strength of a 10-run first inning. The Crusaders got a grand slam from Rebel Robinson and a 3-run home run from Kasie Zukow in the same inning. Robinson went 3 for 5 with two runs scored, five runs batted in and a triple. Robinson, Zukow, Brittany Arnold, and Cassidy Gillihan all had three hits in the game for Evangel. 

The Crusaders dropped the second game 4-2.  Evangel scattered six hits in the game, two from junior Brittany Arnold who went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI.  Julie Blevins got the loss despite allowing one earned run in five complete innings giving up three hits and one walk while striking out four. 

Evangel moves to 9-6 on the season and Oklahoma Wesleyan moves to 12-13 on the year. 

The Crusaders are at home for a Heart of America conference doubleheader against Avila. Game one starts at 1 p.m. on Crusader Field.
