Crusaders return home to face Missouri Valley: Evangel is at home for the first time since Oct. 3 as they host Missouri Valley on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at JFK Stadium in a Heart of America conference, Southern Division game.
Evangel 3-5 and 0-2 in the division. The Crusaders lost last week at Central Methodist 34-28 and are looking for their first win since Sept. 26.
Missouri Valley is 5-3 and 2-0 in the South. The Vikings have won three straight after being 2-3 following the first five weeks of the season. Missouri Valley is tied for first place in the division with Baker as both teams are 2-0. The Vikings end their year with a home game against Baker, ranked 3rd in the NAIA, next week and a road game at MidAmerica Nazarene Nov. 14.
The Vikings lead the all-time series 19-12 and have won the last seven straight against Evangel. The Crusaders last win over Missouri Valley was in 2007. The road team has won (on the field) in 22 of the 31 meetings in the all-time series. Missouri Valley is 12-3 all-time in Springfield.
