Crusaders open HAAC schedule with #3 Baker: Evangel plays their Heart of America conference opener Saturday against third ranked Baker at JFK Stadium.

Evangel is 2-0 after winning their season opener 40-16 at Arizona Christian Aug. 23 then took down Southwestern (Kan.) last week 45-14. The 2-0 start for Evangel marks the Crusaders best start to a season since 2003.

Baker is ranked 3rd nationally in the NAIA and is 2-0 after beating two nationally ranked teams to start their season. The Wildcats beat 14th ranked Ottawa (Kan.) 2012 on Sept. 6 and downed #8 Tabor (Kan.) 31-30 last week. Baker is the defending HAAC champion after going 11-2 and 8-1 in the conference. The Wildcats advanced to the NAIA national quarterfinals last year.

Baker leads the all-time series 15-11 and has won the last two meetings. Evangel won the last game between the two in Springfield winning 34-27 at JFK Stadium in 2011.
