EU at Benedictine in showdown of ranked teams: Evangel is at Benedictine Saturday in a meeting of two teams both ranked in the NAIA top 25.
The Crusades are ranked 25th with a 3-1 record and a 1-1 mark in the Heart of America conference. Evangel is coming off of a 24-21 overtime win at Peru State last week. The 3-1 start marks the first time since 2007 the Crusaders have started winning three of their first four games.
Benedictine is ranked 21st nationally and own a 2-2 record overall and a 1-1 record in the conference. The Ravens lost at home last week to 11th ranked Missouri Valley 29-22. Benedictine went 11-2 last year and finished in a three-way tie for the HAAC title going 8-1 in the conference regular season.
The Ravens lead the all-time series against Evangel 17-13 and have won five of the last six meetings between the two teams.
