SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Baseball clinched the seven-seed last week for the KCAC Conference Tournament and is set to square off with the #2-seeded Ottawa Braves on Wednesday (Apr. 29) afternoon in Salina, Kansas.
First pitch for Evangel's first matchup is set for 12:00 p.m., from Dean Evans Stadium, as the Valor aim to make a run in the KCAC tournament and attempt to take the title.

Evangel concluded the regular season last week with a 24-24 record and 18-18 in conference play. This is Evangel Baseball's ninth all-time appearance in the postseason.

Quentin Edwards concluded this historic regular season last week with a .403 batting average, hitting 16 home runs (school record) and recording 71 hits (school record). The Rogers, Ark., native also leads Evangel with 57 RBIs.

Justus Cherrico joins Edwards as the only other EU athlete to bat at least .400, swinging .401 in the regular season with 44 RBIs.

Four other Evangel starters (Evan Jno-Baptiste, Mason Reilly, Nate Nunes, Cade Beshore) all batted at least .300 in the regular season, with Baptiste scoring a team high 48 runs.

Regardless of the result, the Valor will play again on Thursday, Apr. 30th in Salina, Kansas. With a win, Evangel will take on the winner of the #3 Oklahoma Wesleyan and #6 Tabor matchup at 12:00 p.m., and a loss will result in an elimination game against the loser of the previously mentioned contest at 9:00 a.m.
