Evangel Baseball Travels to OKWU on Tuesday

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Baseball hits the road on Tuesday (Mar. 31) afternoon, taking on the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles for their second of three matchups with OKWU.

First pitch for the nine-inning contest is set for 2:00 p.m. from Bartlesville, Okla., as the Valor aim to take the series after winning the first game at home.

SERIES HISTORY

Evangel is 9-6 all-time against Oklahoma Wesleyan, taking a 14-12 win a few weeks ago in Springfield.

OPENING STORYLINES

  • Evangel is currently 17-16 this season, as the Valor are coming off a non-conference win over the Hannibal-LaGrange Trojans, 14-4.

  • The Valor are currently 7th (11-10) in the KCAC, but are several games behind most KCAC competition.

  • Quentin Edwards has the slight batting average advantage for Evangel, swinging a .425, compared to Justus Cherrico's .424.

  • Evan Jno-Baptiste and Nate Nunes have both also swung hot bats of late, with both currently boasting averages of .358.

  • Heath Perry has drawn a team high 22 walks so far this season.

  • Riley Fuller leads EU in innings pitched (41.0), while TJ Newman leads the Valor in ERA (2.77).

  • Edwards led EU at the plate in their last matchup with OKWU, going 3-5 with four RBIs and a pair of runs scored.
