FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Valor Track and Field traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to compete at the John McDonnell Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas.
Evangel had four different events competing with Devyn Wright and the Men's 4x100 highlighting the meet. Devyn Wright ran a 46.37 second 400 meter dash, placing fourth overall and beating out several NCAA competitors, hitting the NAIA "A" standard to qualify for nationals. Wright's time in the 400 is the current fastest in the nation and broke his own school record. The team (Anthony Shivers, Joseph Sylvester, Brandon Allen, Devyn Wright) finished in sixth overall, running a time of 41.15 seconds, beating out several NCAA D-I and D-II schools. The men hit the NAIA "B" standard, qualifying for the national meet with their time and breaking their own school record.
Delaney Miller tied her season high of 1.75 meters in the high jump event, tying for first in the event which hit the "A" standard. Benjamin Ipock rounded out competitors for Evangel on Friday, placing 21st in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.13 seconds.
