JOPLIN, Mo. – Valor Track and Field took part in the MSSU Lion Open on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 6/7), looking to earn national qualifiers before the conference meet next weekend.
Delaney Miller and April Phillips both hit the NAIA "B" standard in the high jump, while Phillips also hit the "B" standard in the triple jump. Abby Beets set the school record in pole vault, while the men's DMR team also broke the school record after conversion.
Braxton Baker also set the EU school record in the Heptathlon at Northwest Missouri State, scoring 4521 points, the first Evangel competitor in the event for indoor.

Evangel Track and Field will return to action next Thursday and Friday (Feb. 12/13) in Wichita, Kan., at the KCAC Indoor Track and Field Conference Championships.
