ATCHISON, Kan. – The Evangel baseball team rallied to earn a split on Saturday winning game two 13-11 at Benedictine after falling 5-2 in game one of a Heart South Division series.
Game One
A late rally from Benedictine pushed the Ravens past Evangel in the first game. The Crusaders took an early 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the first inning, however, Benedictine scored a run in the bottom of the inning and another in the third to tie the game.
Dustin Eby scattered seven hits over six innings but earned the loss as Benedictine scored two runs in the fifth and another in the sixth. Eby walked four and struck out four in the loss.
Harrison Stevens finished 2-for-3 while Dylan Bradshaw was 1-for-3 with an RBI at the plate.
Benedictine out-hit Evangel 7-5 as the Ravens also took advantage of three Crusader errors. Both teams also left seven runners on base.
Game Two
Another big offensive day at the plate for Evangel helped the Crusaders avoid a sweep at Benedictine with a game two win. Both teams tallied a combined 26 hits and 24 runs as Evangel left 12 runners on base and the Ravens left 15.
Dylan Bradshaw and Jose Vargas each finished with three hits while Patrick Gaul, Jordan Yates, and Harrison Stevens added two RBIs. Stevens and Vargas both tripled as Evangel out-hit Benedictine 15-11.
Bryan Adames earned the win going two innings after starter Mason Baur and Austin Dill pitched the first 4.1 innings. The Crusader pitching staff worked around 11 hits and finished with nine strikeouts including three from Adames and three from Baur.

Evangel continues Heart South Division action next weekend at Missouri Valley. First pitch Friday and Saturday is scheduled for 1 p.m.
