POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – The Evangel baseball team dropped its final non-conference double-header of the season Tuesday at College of the Ozarks.
Game One
Evangel struggled in both games at the plate on Tuesday but was out-hit 14-4 and committed three errors in the game one loss.
Dustin Eby earned a rare loss going three innings and allowing nine hits before Bret Hoffman and Ben Loge pitched the final three innings.
The Bobcats scored six runs in the bottom of the third to break a 1-1 tie. Evangel added its second run in the top of the seventh as the rally was too little, too late.
Ryan Frye finished 2-for-2 with an RBI to lead Evangel offensively.
Game Two
The second game saw Evangel hit the ball much better in game two, however, the Crusaders left 10 runners on base in the loss.
A staff day on the mound saw Austin Dill take the loss as he was unable to get out of a 10-run first inning by the Bobcats.
Jose Vargas and Harrison Stevens each finished with two hits to account for half of Evangel's eight hits.
