MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The Evangel baseball team saw its winning streak move to three straight after a double-header sweep, 6-0 and 11-5, at Bacone Friday afternoon.
The Crusaders got a complete game shutout from Derek Kennell who held Bacone to just two hits over seven innings. Kennell added six strikeouts while walking one after needing just 87 pitches for his first win of the season.
Dustin Hargus provided over half the offense with a 3-run home run that put the game out of reach in the top of the seventh inning. Hargus finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Austin Alfrey also tallied multiple hits going 2-for-4 with a RBI in the win.
Game two saw, even more, offense from the Crusaders who took advantage of seven errors by the Warriors. Five different Evangel players recorded a hit as Stevin Cisneros finished with three RBIs with a triple.
Brad Potts earned the win going the first four innings and allowing just one run and three hits. Deric Link pitched the final two innings taking over for Bret Hoffman in the sixth inning.
Evangel added three more runs in the top of the seventh after a 4-run second and 4-run third inning. Bacone managed to scratch a run across in the bottom of the seventh before Link struck out the final batter to seal the win.

Evangel and Bacone return to the diamond Saturday to finish a four-game non-conference series. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
