Batesville, Ark. – Evangel men's soccer played its first game since 1974 on Tuesday afternoon falling at Lyon (Ark.) 6-0 in Batesville.
Evangel fell behind early, as two quick goals in the 8th minute and 10th minute for Lyon putting the Scots up 2-0 before halftime.
Evangel's goalkeeper Adrian Plasencia recorded 12 saves while allowing five goals in the loss.
Evangel's loss drops them to 0-1 on the season. Lyon improved to 1-0.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Sept. 5 when they play at John Brown (Ark.). Evangel plays their first home game on Tue., Sept. 8 when they host Central Baptist (Ark.) at 4 p.m. at the Lake Country Soccer Complex.
