BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Evangel Men's Soccer opened KCAC Conference Tournament play on Tuesday (Nov. 4) evening, taking on the top seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles in the quarterfinals. Despite holding the #1 team in the conference and in the nation scoreless for 35 minutes, OKWU would score four goals in the final 55 minutes to close Evangel's historic season, 4-0.
The Evangel defense was able to keep the Eagles scoreless for the majority of the first half, as EU recorded their first shot of the game 21 minutes in, with Andrea Fincato shooting wide right of the goal. OKWU would score at the 35:17 mark to take a 1-0 lead they held to the halftime break.
OKWU added their second goal of the evening 21 minutes into the second half to double their lead. Vasco Goncalves would shoot a pair of shots that were high of the goal, the final shots of the game for Evangel, as the Eagles added another pair of goals late, forcing EU to fall 4-0, in fulltime.
